Hello, you. Happy Friday!
Okay, so off the top of my head and in no particular order, I am making a list for one hour, writing things down as they come to me… all tried and tested. Promise.
wear your favourite outfit
read something excellent
write the letter/email/text you have been umming and ahhing over
get to bed early
look after the plants in your vicinity
watch something very engrossing
talk to someone else who is struggling
talk to a child
touch a living thing with care and intention
watch something that made you laugh once
surprise someone with a sweet, sweet gift
help someone develop their idea
go to the event without over-thinking it
introduce yourself to a stranger
leave the event without feeling guilty
for today, go ahead and order the food
feed someone well
for today, try to think about only today
get very, very into a new artist
tire yourself out poring over their back catalogue
commit to two uninterrupted minutes of movement to music
this weekend, go in person to see some art
this weekend, ask someone new to join you
gift your body a brand-new sensation
decide on a new short-term hobby
decide on a new long-term hobby
research the answer to a question you’ve always pondered
drink more water than anything else
and repeat
find something in common with someone you dislike
make something interesting with your hands
tidy up
reorganise/restructure
clean out your messy inbox
as you work, listen to something inspiring
delete old photos that really should go - thus ensuring your timeline jump
find out / rediscover what a timeline jump is
write a poem about the actual truth
decide what must end right now
or soon
rewatch the best movie you can think of
take all the devices out of the room while you are sleeping
wake up early
take a walk before you even have time to talk yourself out of it
pay attention to the sun
start telling the truth even when it makes you want to be sick, and you’re worried about what everyone thinks
do something unexpected
do a new thing with your love
respond to the discomfort differently this time
do a new thing with your anger
remember that making the decision doesn’t mean it’s set in stone,
so try it.
congratulate yourself on making it thus far
